Dating, traffic and Los Angeles

The city of Los Angeles is for primarily three reasons - Hollywood, traffic and single life. if you are a single professional in the city of Los Angeles and follow the 9 to 6 regular working schedule, you're probably used to spending a couple of hours in traffic each day. Residents of Los Angeles spend about four days each year stuck in traffic and waiting at traffic lights. The city of Angels also has the highest per capita car population in the world.the LA metropolitan area has roughly 1.8 cars per person and no wonder the traffic comes to a stall during peak hours.you'd be surprised to know that the LA freeway system handles over 12 million cars everyday.

Since we in our lifestyle are so dependent on cars for getting around, this high traffic impacts many areas of our lives including dating. No wonder, in Los Angeles singles prefer to date someone on their side of the town as compared to driving across the city to meet someone special.professional singles in the city often choose to work either early-morning hours or late-night hours to avoid driving in peak traffic. The city also offers many happy hours discounts joints. However most of the happy hours are from six to 8 PM and so is the peak traffic. If you want to meet someone for a date during happy hour, you might like to choose a place close to yours and your partners workplace. Also, do check out the parking situation at the happy hour place as parking around downtown and busy areas of the city can be time-consuming. A lot of singles also choose to meet for late-night dinner followed by a few drinks so that they can avoid driving through the traffic to meet their date.

The traffic in Los Angeles is quite unpredictable. Sometimes the traffic is zooming by and suddenly it comes to a stall. Therefore, it's very hard to predict how much time it would take to let say drive 5 miles in the city. If you're meeting your partner for a date, you might like to compensate for traffic and try to show up 15 minutes early. After all, it is better to show up 15 minutes early than to show up 15 minutes late. Also, you might be able to reach your date faster if you take surface streets as compared to taking the freeway. There are various websites available on the Internet where you can check freeway traffic conditions before you step out of office. If you own one of the smart phones like the iPhone or Blackberry, you might also like to get smart phone applications which can show you the traffic on real-time basis. Hopefully, this guide will help you navigate the traffic in Los Angeles and be on your date in time.
